Greetings,

am hoping to find some used 18' alloys and tyres for my van but struggling to find correct offset and pcd details. Have heard that Audi A6 wheels bolt straight on but other Audi ones dont. If anyone can shed any light on which way to go/what to look out for etc would appreciate it, Thanks

That's because Golf wasn't in the list as they don't fit

Save yourself some trouble and stick to merc. Centre bore, offset are good and if recent wheels the bolt holes will be 14mm too.

Bargains do appear from time to time on ebay. I got a set of 4 year old merc e211 5 spokes with virtually brand new correct sized tyres for just £150. The tyres alone saved me £250-£350

A similar set went for £420. Reason I got the cheap was the seller spelt Mercedes wrong (merecedes)

The ones I got were the same as these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/16-MERCEDES-ALLOY ... 286.c0.m14" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Just don't rush as bide your time as don't forget you need some money for the stud conversion

I'm no expert but theres more to it than just buying new studs/bolts willy nilly. You need to know the offset of the wheels for what spacers you will need, what length of new bolts/studs you will need, whether the new wheels have radius or tapered bolt seats, whether the wheels have 12mm bolt holes or 14mm (if 12mm then they need opening up to 14mm and special bolts/nuts ordering that are 14mm with the radius seat of a 12mm bolt) and what size tyres you will run to keep the gearing and speedo right etc etc

Then do you want to convert your front wheels to studs or will you keep bolts? Do you have the means to get your hubnut off and to press out the rear studs to press in longer studs? etc. these are all questions that you need to ask yourself

Read the link from the brick-yard in my post above for a better understanding

http://www.brickwerks.co.uk/index.php?o ... 6&Itemid=6" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; sell everything you need.

Fortunately for me I'm near enough to Huddersfield to get Simon at the brickwerks to fit mine for me :D

Hi all,

think I've found some wheels. They are Benz wheels and are 5 x 112 et42 18' 8j rim width.
Will these fit does anybody know before I part with my hard earned???

Thanks

My 16" merc rims are 7.5j ET42 and with a 10mm spacer on the front they just catch the suspension on full lock. Sliding door isn't too far off catching the wheel either

8j could be bit too wide for the front offset wise and the sliding door will probably catch the rears.

E D I T: Found this on the brick-yard

8 is as wide as you realy want to go on the front of a t3
ive tried more sizes than most, you dont realy want to be going wider.

i run 8.5 wide split rims but im taking them backdown to 8.

8 and 9 is a good combination.
8j with et 30 will be fine

on the rear i know that 8.5 et 20 with 265 35 18 tyres clears the door, close but clears.
so 9j et30 would be fine

if you go 8 and 9 wide i would recomend keeping the offsets between et 30 and et 40 , that way if you need to space them (8x18 et 40 normaly needs 5 to 10 mm spacers up front) then you will be keeping spacers to a minium.

Thanks again, this club is proving to be very useful. Have just bought another (ratty) T25 but 1.9 petrol now, going to really enjoy spending winter on it. Couldnt deal with the drone from my 1.6d. Up for sale! Roll on Summer
