not really 1y specific just a diesel question ..
Installing my 1y over the weekend, I put on the wires. I have them connected :
1)Top of pump
2)glow plug rail
3)back of block water temp
4)side of block another water temp wire
5)oil pressure sensor
However I have one more, it wasnt connected and doesnt affect the van running, just would be good to know what it does.
Thanks

Dear Sir , it may be a good idea to give a clue to the colour of the un used wire so we can offer you an opinion.

As Fritzzzzzz says colour coding would help----------

, It goes to No4 (2 wire connection) it is a temprature sender wire from the Glowplug relay, for when engine is warm or hot and does not require glow plug light in the dash to go its prolonged time out of the relay---------

There should be two oil pressure sender wires, 0.3 bar on the end of the head (blue/black) and 0.9 bar on the filter flange (yellow/red). (This is for a late TD.)
