Changing front springs

Hi all, went out to change the Radius rod bushes today, as you do.
Got some really good ones off evilbay and purchased a pair of the stainless steel sleeves from Brickwerks.
Started to remove the radius rod and spotted the near side spring had snapped, looks like it had been broke for some time. .
The question is, do you have to go by the Haynes manwell, or does any one know of an easier way?. Has any one done this themselves?
I changed the rear springs last month, they were pee easy.
Many thanks
Steve.

It's meant for lowering but it'll give you the idea about getting the springs out. Undoing the ARB drop link will help give you a bit more leverage. I also knows a man who swears he can change one in 30 mins be taking out the inner bolt on the track control arm as well ... !
