Has anyone ever ordered anything through this website? www.vw-classicparts.de ?

I found it referenced in the WIKI https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Pa ... ain_Dealer

The reason I ask is that I have been after a specific body part that UK dealers say is obselete, but that site says it has stock. I have sent a query as per WIKI instructions. It will most likely turn out that the site was wrong and no stock exists but one can always hope

That's great.

I'm a bit wary of what the shipping costs will be as the part weighs a good 3-4 kilo's.

Shouldn't cost that much. I had a pair of bucket seats from Holland and it only cost £40.

Hiya Cruz,

A more direct link to the parts enquiry part of the VW Classic Parts Center is on this link http://www.vw-classic.net/bestand/index2.html

I would just send the form to them (using the Abschicken button) and they usually reply back to you next day with a quote (Angebot). Versand means postage in english and it's usually fairly cheap.

All you then need to do is to reply to the email along with your credit/debit card details and they'll send the parts to you.

The other great thing about the VW Classic Parts Center is that they don't supply pattern part crap, which is why I had recommended everyone to order from them.

Also, a quick update on what the coloured squares mean:-

- Green = In stock
- Yellow = Limited stock available
- Red = Out of stock and due to be restocked
- Blue = Part is no longer available (nicht mehr lieferbar)

For some parts for the type 2 T3 there's also Diesel Kontor ( http://www.dieselkontor.de ) where you can get parts from there as well. They are particularly useful for special VW tools. You can search for a specific part on that website as well using the VAG part number.

I am a bit sceptical about whether they will have the part I'm looking for even though the site says it's in stock (green) as local UK VW Vancentre say it went obselete last year.

Thanks Phade. I sent an query using the form and just left the comment box (bemerkungen) with the original german comment in it.

"Sehr geehrtes Classic Parts- Team,

bitte teilen Sie mir Preise, Verfügbarkeit sowie Lieferzeiten zu den oben aufgeführten Ersatzteilen mit.

Vielen Dank"

which roughly translates as

"Dear Classic part team,

Please communicate to me prices, availability as well as delivery times to the spare parts specified above.

Many Thanks

just write in english, they speak/read it well

They usually do, but they don't always understand every word (especially when I mixed up ignition lead set with ignition lead spark plug end !!).

I have had the odd one or two replies in german even though I had written the request in english (so I just replied to them in german instead of english).

I can only praise these guys - they have supplied a number of "out of stock" parts for me over the last 2 years - excellent service and low delivery charges. My German came in useful but from my experience, they do understand English as well. :D

You can also use the translation website http://babelfish.yahoo.com/ for free.

Who is Gunzl?

VW Vans in preston and manchester told me that the right inner sill went obselete in 2007 yet classicparts have stock. Why is this?

I asked classic parts how many right inner sills they have left in stock in order to let people know how many were left and they replied with "we have some of them in stock. So it will be no problem to order them."

Because he bought all the stock in germany when vw were dumping all the t25 stock! He is not in the vw main frame he is a free lance parts supplier!

Also we bought the last three inner sills in the uk from VW a few months ago :D
