New clutch with new engine?

I am having a replacement engine fitted into my 1990 2.1 auto Caravelle next week. It has done 103,000 miles, would it be a good idea to change the clutch (or anything else) while the motor is out? Thanks - Paul :D

It would be false economy not to do it. Pressure plate, centre plate and thrust bearing (all supplied as part of a Clutch kit).

Definitely - good shout toomanytoys.

Water pump is almost 'impossible' to get to with the engine in-situ. I replaced the water pump and the water pump bolts with stainless steel bolts to be on the safe side.

Thanks. American spec Westy, so all the bells and whistles.
More photo's here (but not of the engine rebuild, which I have to post).

No. The old pipe was in remarkably good condition, so cleaned it up, painted and refitted.

Yes - well spotted that man!! I've been using Hylomar on engines since the mid 1980's and would throughly recommend it to everyone. The genuine Hylomar is made under license from Rolls Royce. It can be used on all joints and pipes. It's never let me down.

Thanks for the replies. Nice pics... It is an auto box, Is there some sort of clutch mechanism? I am never sure if it is ok to leave it in drive position when stationary, so I put it neutral to be on the safe side.

you dont have a clutch, you have a torque convertor.
