Hi All. New to this. Just joined site after buying T25 auosleeper two weeks ago. Have got a wkd noise on reer near side wheel. Sounds like rubber against metal. Have taken apart and greased drive shaft. Seemed to help but after trip to Cheddar its back. Thought it might be the oil seal rubbing the hub assembly. Any advice/ ideas greatly appreciate. Cheers Neil

I have a noise which i would discribe like yours on the rear near side.It occurs on a hard right .I changed both the rear wheel bearings on both sides & caster nuts tighten properly. There was still a bit of play in the hub after replacing the wheel bearings i was thinking could this be a brake drum rubbing on a back plate.

Hi Camper, thankyou for your reply. A weird one this. It seems to come on after about 30 miles whether driving straight or turning. I believe all the brake shoes etc have been replaced prior to purchase, but will check. Thank again. Neil

Prob debris/rust from the drum/backing plate touching each other.. or could be the shoes havent been installed correctly etc.. have you had the drum off?
Greasing the drive shaft wont help.. have you don the nut back up.?? it needs to be 358ftlbs..... yes really that tight... bloomin tight...

Hi Toomanytoys, thanks for your response. Have had drum of before. Will have another look and ensure the nut is tightened to the correct spec on completion. Its weird but does sound like rubber against metal??? Cheers

Why do you think its rubber??
Have a look at the driveshafts and make sure there is nothing wrapped around them etc...
What wheels have you got? not got some non standard ones that are touching the suspension etc....

I thought it was rubber because of the sound. Although the more I think about it, it must be the brakes. Going to have a good look. Wheels are totally standard. Thanks for advice. Will let you know what I find. Cheers

Cheers all for quick responses and advice. Looks like it was the castle nut. Tightened as advised and all quiet. Fingers crossed. Cheers

Could also be the CV joint. Look under the wheel at the bar connecting it to the gearbox. Give it a bit of a..how can I say this politely?..a motion as if you were sandpapering a walking stick

kinda movement up and down the bar!!
This redistributes the grease inside and hey presto, noise goes away for a few thousand miles (ultimately would need replacing, but doesn't everything?)
