Anyone know what I can use to remove the old, hardened stripe from the hightop. Something to soften it maybe, without affecting the fibreglass.
This is my next job when the cold wind stops blowing up my trouser leg and sending me back indoors!

try warming them with a hair dryer,, sometimes works but depends how brittle they've gone.

hot air gun, hair dryer, or hot water from a kettle.

Gone very hard and brittle. Never thought of hot air gun!

you could also try a powerwash,if they are brittle. i removed mine with the jetwash at the local garage.

Tried jet wash, brought some of it off but lots left behind.

I got mine off with http://www.maplin.co.uk/Module.aspx?Mod ... &U=strat15 Didn't seam to harm the roof but not 100%. After using they don't fall off still require some picking but it makes the glue tacky again and lets u get at the edges.

just be a bit canny with the hot air paint stripper type guns as they'll blister your roof in milliseconds if you get too close

better by the litre rather than aerosol, but put the cap back on each time, it soon evaporates, apply liberally and scrap with one of these
