Can somebody give me a bit of advice. I have recently changed the steering wheel over from the standard bus type, off a t25 (1989) to a later model more comfortable and a bit smaller. The problem is that there is movement towards the clocks, but if I put the standard wheel back on I still have that movement. What`s up and is it easy to fix

It was just a straight swop as the wheel came off a later model. The plastic sleeve is still there and has not moved, but as you say I also have movement downwards also.

then you have dropped the column down the fittings , when you put the new wheel on you pushed it down you can try the bottom connection uj and take up the slack
