ive stuck a 1.9 diesel motor in my van and kept the 1.9 fuel pump on it, i cant get fuel through which is frustrating, there are 5 sets of wires coming from the pump and i dont know wich ones to use or lose, what are they??? can anyone give me some advice... ta. jim

What type of 1.9 diesel lump is it?? TD, TDi, non turbo. and just to make sure, is it a VAG engine (VW, Skoda, Seat, Audi).

yes its the usual transplant 1.9 golf, n/a 95 ish 1y code (i think)

Provided it's pre integrated security it should be possible to wire it up just using the stop solenoid connector. Until you get to electronic control a diesel pump is a diesel pump is a diesel pump. The stop solenoid is the only connection it needs to run.

If it's got integrated security then you're screwed unless you've got all the instruments etc.....

on a 1Y I reckon you'll be OK.

Show us some pictures of this diesel pump you speak of.....

ive not sent photos to the site before so this is a learning proccess, so here goes.....

if still not sure then pop over to CES in Digbeth (or ring them) 0121 -771-4720. They know Bosch pumps inside out.

are sure you've uploaded yr piccies to a host site first (photobucket, muchos, bebo etc.) and then linked them on here?

bizarre..... everyone said its the most staight forward conversion of all, but no-one knows what these wires are !!!!! hhmmm

Does it run?

If so take it out for a drive. If it drives OK quit worrying.

It may be a very easy conversion, but it's not a very good one - an AAZ has far more poke.

Hi Weazlechin, seem to remember this same question from somebody else recently, and it had similar pics to yours, cant remember whether it was on here, or it might have been on the brickyard, have a search back a few weeks and youll probably find it. Good luck, hope it all runs sweet for ya.

Unfortunately from those photos (?), I can't see if the stop solenoid is connected or not. If it's not connect it to power whener the ignition is on
