Eberspacher, will it work?

OK more advice needed please
I have slowly, due to recently operated right elbow joint, been refiting Nancy, talk about fun & games, taken 5 weeks so far
Anyway i am looking to fit some heat, I have an Eber in mind!
Can I take the diesel feed from the fuel tank
yes I know I got to drain it and drill it then.
Do I need to remove it
I am not sure but does the feed pipe have to be vertically fitted
Someone please help me, if you can.

why tap your tank , its all ready got two perfectly good outlets
just T off either off the feed or the return pipe

You don't need to drain the tank and drill it - you just need to split the fuel line (not the return one) and connect a "y" piece.
Save yourself the hassle - works for me!

And remember to fit the eberspacher fuel pump at 15deg angle to its looking 'up' at the heater........this ensures you dont get air locks in the pump..........(its in the eberspacher manual if you dont beleive me

it will only work when the engine is running. if you put it on the return wont it.
just T off either off the feed or the return pipe

if you tee in you need to be on the return, not the outlet, which is what Rob said... the ebber pump cannot out pull the vacume from the engine pump if you tee in on the outlet

I don't understand this at all.
Mines connected to the outlet of the fuel tank and draws diesel from the tank. If it was connected to the return, surely it would have to draw fuel from the injection pump, through the injection pump and then to the tank (which is a long way and i doubt it could do it). Is this what you meant Steve?
Actually thinking about it, unless there is a one way valve on the return (which i doubt) i dont suppose it matters which one you connect it to - unless of course the return enters the tank at a higher level - then it will only work if the tank is full!
Mine works anyhow....

just buy a propex m8 and couple it to your gas
much less fannying around
