i had some help with this last week, apparently the people who have lent my van say the brake light does not go out, they took in to kwik fit last week and the mechanic informed them that the level is fine. The people borrowing it took this as a green light and have continued using it..

My problem is as the van is not in my possesion it is hard to estimate the problem, please advise what you think the problem may be and end my torture..?

Apparently the van is running fine

I presume you mean the brake light on the dash?

If so, I was refering to the switch that is attached to the handbrake lever which can be found by lifting up the rubber gator. A single wire is connected by a spade connector. Check this connection/wire is ok. Can supply pics if that helps.

tried all the above, the spade end that goes on a male to female was cleaned of gunk, unfortunatley the light stayed the only difference was that the light faded slightly when the handbrake was off.. :?:
Any takers.....
