Nice to see a good turnout despite the wet weather...
I think most will agree that the wet weather really 'made' the event special. in several ways.
First the driving... totally different than in the dry, where only so much can be learnt however much driving one does. Cross-slope limits, failed ascents, safe descents and safe winching were covered in some detail - not always in a methodical and planned manner it has to be admitted, but nevertheless, much was learnt. Some great 'wading' was had too, a spectacular and harmless playtime
A few short local green lane sections were attempted on the Sunday afternoon, and in quite atrocious rain, was sensibly aborted...
Five vehicles drove the Wayfarer's on the Monday, a well known track through the beautiful Berwyn hills just North of Llanfyllin... interestingly, all were Single or Douible cabs (3S + 2D), making an interesting convoy.
We had some new Syncronaut members, Richard arriving with his ex Mountain rescue 1.9 DG double-slider Syncro, and Ollie with his Subaru Syncro, unfortunately without a propshaft. Once Andy Simpson had spent a few hours getting Richard's difflocks working he was a happy bunny, and after some brief driving induction Saturday, was driving with a big grin all Sunday and Ollie even got a drive on the Sunday...
So making 11 Syncros up on site on the Sunday... quite enough actually

Both Roger and Julia and Richard brought their caravans - wise! Russel's and Mark's were the only full campers which coped with their respective needs with ease, though Aidan had a pretty good setup in his...
Despite both light rain and a few heavy downpours, we enjoyed barbecues and campfires on Sat and Sunday night, great opportunity for socialising, and information exchange as usual... Sunday evening turned into a particularly fine and pleasant night relaxed around the fire as a full moon skipped along the horizon behind us ...
Russel (Syncro-Nutz) & Shamsa, Pete (PC52) & Sharon and Mark brought their children, and as children do, they made light of the wet conditions and had more fun than normal playing in the quick to form and equally quick to dry pools outside their campers and tents... and of course, enjoyed the excitement up on the hills immensely.

Many thanks to those stalwarts who helped pack the Syncronauts gear away, and clean and clear the site so well... we couldn't even see where the campfire had been raging barely 12 hours earlier!
