Fuel Tank Cleaner?

Thinking that as it's still the original fuel tank and as I had a slight issue with starting the other day and after using Carb Cleaner which sorted out my issue my fuel tank is probably rusty.

Is tank cleaner just snake oil?

Is it best to just replace the tank and pipes/filter?

Still here the original Pierburg Carburettor on ( could do with a rebuild) and it's a 1.9DG

TIA

I pulled my diesel tank in my Doka and washed it through in a corner of the garden

Everything stank of diesel for a week, even my dogs, was crap and a lot of effort

My Caravelle got a new tank, powdercoated, fitted, way easier and the simplest job imaginable, Sir Adventure has a great blog and guide on YouTube
