As per title, Maisie when she's been filled up emits an aroma of petrol. After she's used some fule she loses the smell. She's not obviously dropping any fuel though.
I have looked at one thread that pointed at the filler neck seal, is this a strong candidate?
I also saw mention of vapour tanks, and then found the most complicated looking fuie tank system diagram known to man!! in the club wiki..
https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Fuel_system_breather_tanks... Am i looking at taking the tank out to replace bits???
Cheers
Rob

It’ll be either the breather pipes or the filler rubbers
Here’s a little less daunting diagram of what you have

Cool cheers,
Can the Filler breather be done without removing the tank?
I will order up the breather and neck seal once I know if she's a 48mm ot 68mm
Thanks
Rob

Easy to tell , if its plastic its the smaller one , but could be either on yours as changeover years
You might be able to get to the filler breather pipe without dropping the tank , if its the early metal one the breather pipe from the filler rots just in the wheel arch

It must be the fuel tank, ive just looked at my van and the edge of the fuel tank where the 2 parts are joined together sticks out from under the chassis , the one in the photo looks like its coming apart. In the photo look just below the brake pipe.

What you are seeing there is the strap that holds the tank up

That's is the edge/seam of the tank in the photo, it sits just below the chassis. If you're going to check/replace the breather pipes and crossover pipe you'll be dropping the tank anyway so may as well put a new one in rather than try and save what you have. Not a job you'd want to be doing twice, it's not difficult but it is time consuming, I'd allow a good half a day.
