Three way fridge (Gas)

Post by Rubbersoul71 »

Hello all
My Electrolux RM-212F three way fridge works absolutely fine on electric hook up.
Following a previous issue with the gas ignition switch, that's been fixed and with the gas on, the fridge ignites and cools as you'd expect.
Steady blue flame.
External flue has been warm (at times) and you can tell that exhaust fumes are being expelled.
Other times, the flue is cold which seems odd.
Also, there's been a clear smell of campinggaz whilst the fridge is on.
Are there any obvious places where this gas could be leaking from?
And in terms of inspection and repair, where do I need to go? My mechanic won't touch it, neither will a gas fitter friend of ours.
Who do I need to find locally? And does anyone know anyone in South Yorkshire that might help?

Should add that I turned off the fridge when I smelled gas so I'm not using the fridge (on gas) in the meantime!

Cheers!

You need a caravan shop , not a mechanic !!
Although if you have worked on the fridge you must have taken the gas pipe apart , so arm yourself with some soapy water and a paint brush and leak test the connections you have has apart or may have disturbed . It wont hurt you as long as you don’t search for it with a naked flame
