diagnostics cable for tdi's

what cable and software are people using with tdi conversions. I can see lots of cables on eBay etc, some with a CD. 

its also possible to find lots of things like this.

are they actually any good?

You can find UK distributors here: https://www.ross-tech.com/distributors.php

You buy a licenced software.
 
You can find some VCDS cables on ebay, but you will need to register any of these with Ross Tech to enable them perform any job.

yes I have seen those. I'm more looking into the hand held devices currently more because of cost, like quite a lot of people currently money is tight.

I am using the cheapest chinese copy blue KKL usb cable with the 409 VCDS from the cd.
It is fine for these old tdi engines (1Z/AHU, AFN)
