Guys,
Planning on changing the oil, replacing the plugs on the van today.
Should I be removing the sump plug aswell as the drain plug? And if so what size of copper washer do I need for the sump plug?
Is anything else required for the drain plug?
van is a 1982 2.0 a/c
thanks again
Cheers,
C

What are you calling what here?
The drain plug is usually 13 or 15 mm and is all alone in the sump. Are you getting confused with the strainer plate - a hex bolt in the middle of a circular plate, which does not need to come off very often - only when you rebuild engine or every couple of years depending on how diligent you are.
The drain plug is the little one. The big round central hole is the strainer plate and the big round hole in the corner is just a cover plate aka taco plate in USA - the dip stick is just above it and it is sometimes used as a mounting site for an oil temp sender but it's not in a good flow area.

Hi Keith,
Thanks for the reply mate, I was referring to the drain plug (smaller on in your pic) I associated the "sump plug" as being the on the strainer plate. so all clear now (think I was just looking for problems

) only the smaller drain plug needs removing, i'll need to get hold of a copper washer.
Thanks again.
