Tailgate Sill rust

Post by droftardis »

Hey all,

So as you'll see from the pictures below, I pretty much need to replace the sills on the tailgate. It's the part when you open the tailgate and it's what the seal would connect to. I checked with a number of sites to see if they do replacement parts, but for this they don't. SO I am thinking that my options would be to take it off, grind it back and replace with 1mm strips. Does anyone have any thoughts or recommendations.

Pictures

Thanks

Thats pretty bad rust. The seal fits into a U section pressing all the way round, not an easy repair I should think.

The seal channel is made by the joining of 2 body panels, Brickwerks have the lower and side panels and crossmember  but it would be a big expensive job to do it using the genuine panels.
