Most of what you need is on the wiki.
https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Di ... ine_wiring" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Like you, I found that the wiring diagram made no sense to me at all when I first tried to work things out. Which is why I say MOST of what you need is on the wiki. You also need time and patience, and to ask more questions about what specifically you don't understand.
Good luck, it will get easier.

The link I posted has a fat (10mm
2 red cable going to the battery. I’ve a different wiring diagram to bigherb. You’ll get a clearer pdf of mine on the syncrosport website, I’m not used to the layout of bigherb’s diagram.
http://syncrosport.com/info/wiring/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
There’s a red/black wire comes out to the dash as well if you have a rev counter. My JX also had a fat earth cable running from the alternator mounting bolt to the battery negative, but I moved that to the starter mounting bolt.
What’s the problem you’re having?

That's the same as mine.
Blue wire is the trigger (ignition light/tacho)
One fat red to the battery via the starter
One fat red to the split charge relay
Mines petrol engine though.
The diagram is fairly simple if you identify the components using the key.
Haynes manual explains all the various symbols.

Diesel alternators have two B+ spade connectors so have two thicker red wires connected to the battery. Standard as the diagram bigherb posted. (A-battery; C-alternator)
