Help!!! Alternator has fallen off

My alternator has fallen off. It looks like I have a bolt or 2 sheared off. Is there any way of getting these bolts out without taking the engine out?

the one on the left you might be able to drift out, rotational with a small sharp point chisel, the one on the right is a toughie, either way plus gas patience ponder tea action

Gutted only had her back a few weeks now she's gonna be out of use again for a while.
I'll get some plus gas and see how things go. I'm dreading it being an engine out job, if I could get the one out and find a new bracket at least I could keep using her while I plan what to do

That surely would be an engine out job and not cheap.
Maybe I can take the pipe off in front of where the bracket should be, I could drill them out?

I had a similar problem with this bracket coming loose last year but not a bolt broken where yours is. One of the bolts was broken further inside the block. I found a seriously skilled local mechanic to do the repair. He removed the coolant pipe to get at the problem to save removing the engine. Drilling has to be very carefully done, to ensure you don't knacker the engine by drilling right through the engine block. Good luck with this.

I'll try the plus gas option then see where we get. I have a local chap that's removed exhaust studs for me, so maybe he can help out.

Managed to very, very carefully drill and helicoil repair mine in situ some time back, so it can be done. No further issues to date.

The bracket that tensions the belt and the one that holds it on are both broken, any ideas where I can get them from?

Could try the welded nut approach, one on the left will need the exposed thread protected with a cut tube.

I've been there too (Itchy has the case now!) and feel your pain. I bought a bracket from classic.de for £30 but it takes 3 weeks to get here, if I remember. Anyway, you can have this bracket for postage only if you like. PM me your address.
