NS Trailing Arm Mount Rot

Just noticed this beauty when having a look about my van :evil:

Is this just the mount part like this perished:

Or something more? It looks strange as so many layers of metal seem to be raised.

Evening, mine looked a bit like that, got it replaced a couple of weeks ago. The top hat was completely goosed and the base was curled up and crispy. Only realised when I was getting a springy boinging noise as I drove it.
A couple of whacks with a chisel and it came off, no rot on the trailing arm.

If you are lucky the trailing arm will be ok and a replacement Spring plate will be enough.

Does the spring plate need spot welding down to the tiling arm? Or is that just when it's rotten through?

I think spot welded yes.

Here's a before and after of mine. I stripped it, took it to be shot blasted, had the small holes welded up and a new spring plate welded on. treRated and painted. Then new bushes. Looks good as new.
