What are the two plastic tanks just above both front wheels?

That's what I thought but can't smell petrol, both the rubber connections are brittle and I'm in Dorset but live in lancashire.

They're the breather tanks for the petrol tank. I think on hot days they allow the fuel to expand some and also regulate air blocks on one side of the tank when filling up and maybe allow the fuel pump to suck out fuel more easily.
If you can't smell petrol then all is well!

Got a couple of these on my Westy 1.6TD Club Joker 87, also had brittle pipes! Van came from neither Dorset or lancashire
