Have purchased some carat wheels and I obviously need to purchase a few items from brickwerks to make them fit (they have been helpful)
I have emailed a few questions to them but as its the weekend I probably won't hear back till Monday so hoping one of you kind guys can answer them...

couple of questions

1. When fitting the conversion studs at the front is it just a matter of hand tight with loctite ?

2. if I want to change back to steel wheels at some point do the conversion studs need to be removed or just a matter of stick back on and use the chrome nuts or original open nuts ?

3. as the spare will still be a steel one and worse case scenario puncture is on the front (same question as above I guess ! ) would i use the original open nuts from the rear that will now be redundant but being carried as spares !

Can't comment on fitting the studs, but Carat uses tapered nuts and steel uses radiused nuts so you should keep some open ended radiused nuts to use with the steel spare.

Standard steel wheels are designed obviously for their application, so you will notice that between the bolt holes on the wheels there are some raised areas, these are for clearance for the small bolts that locate the rear brake drum. When fitting alloy wheels these locating bolts interfere with the new wheel and cause it not to seat correctly. The M7 bolts in question, with 11mm heads can safely be removed and left out as the brake drum centers itself on the hub.

Yes that is the case.

With regard to the front stud conversion - yes simply use a good thread locking adhesive, screw them in and nip them up by double nutting them.

Atiwe pepperpot alloys supplied as OE by VW have recesses to clear the drum retaining bolts, don't know if that applies to Carats but I should imagine it does as they were OE as well.

So will I have to remove the said bolts with the carats ?

Also small end in first with longer side sticking out ????
