Having put my dash back in and tested that every thing works (or thinking i had) I've just realised when my ignition is on i have a permanent dash light on my indicator bulb. The indicators lights don't work when indicating but my 4 ways do. Could this be a fuse problem?

Could be a few things including poor earth or bad connection somewhere but on the earlier bullet fusebox like yours, it might just be a fuse that has a hairline crack in the metal part (may not be obvious without very careful inspection). Generally the black/white green/white wires are all indicator related. Check the plug on steering column is pushed home too.

I had exactly this problem on a friends. Spent an age trying to solve it and it was a broken fuse but could just as easily be a bad connection during reassembly or poor/missing connector at earth crown. If still no joy, removew battery terminal and unscrew fusebox, pull it forward, and make sure all spade terminals are snug.

It was as you said a hairline crack in the fuse.... :ok

Glad thats sorted then. I'm not a fan of the early fusebox (even though mine is). Have you also made this mod? Well worth doing on the early fusebox:

"PRE-85 FUSEBOX MOD - ENSURING WIPERS WORK IF BLOWER KILLS FUSE" towards the bottom of this page:

https://club8090.co.uk/wiki/Co ... eplacement" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Would highly recommend it! :rollin
