Looking after GTi engine in T25

I have very recently bought another T25. Unlike my previous one, it does not have a standard engine. This time it has a reconditioned 16v engine taken out of a Golf GTi. Not being used to this, is there anything I need to be aware of or pay attention to in terms of, well basically, not breaking my new van?

Hmmmm....if it has been done properly then the 16v Golf engine is strong and reliable.
So after checking the quality of the conversion (coolant pipes/fuel hoses/wiring harnesses/engine mountings/exhaust etc) then it's a case of regular servicing....cam belt and tensioners hopefully were done when converted?
Regular oil & filter changes..of course this engine will benefit from the use of fully synthetic 5W 40 Quantum Platinum (silver bottle)
Presumably this conversion has the later 'injection' fuel tank with swirl chamber and larger outlet? also electric fuel pump with large aluminium canister fuel filter.
Also...has the dipstick level been marked accurately? what dipstick is being used?

I know it has been done recently. It has only 2k miles on it since being reconditioned and installed. There is a new gearbox and new fuel lines also recently fitted. How do I check the dipstick marker is correct?
The inspection hatch has had to be raised slightly to make room.

Depends on how the engine has been mounted, whether it has the original sump & dipstick fitted.
Checked purely on quantity of oil at an oil/filter change. Not sure what a 16V GTI takes but less than a wasserboxer...around 4 litres....you need to check.

Only way to check for sure is to drop oil and filter and refill then check against dipstick. 4.3l.
Guessing its mounted upright if a 16v.
pics for us pervs?

Because I'm new to the forum I am not yet allowed to post attachments, but as soon as I am I will post a couple of photos so you can see how it has been mounted.
