HI
Turbo Thomas make stainless headers for the waterboxer with the pre 85 flanges, I have a 1991 2.1 DJ. I can't afford their back box as well, so thinking of as a stop gap whilst I save up, of fitting an Empi twin quietpack that fits pre 85 engines but will also fit these stainless headers. What I need to know is has anyone done this and how well did it fit and how did you support the empi as I am pretty sure the original exhaust hangers on the late engines won't fit?
Please no "why you fitting an Empi it'll rust before your eyes bla bla" I know they are poo, but they sound ace (

If anyone perchance is getting rid of a bluebird twin stainless (which they seem to have stopped making, in fact they seem to gone to the T4/5 dark side?) then I would be interested as had one on my old CU wedge and loved the sound,

I am 99% certain that you won't need any extra support for the silencer.

I have just fitted one last week. I actually bought it about 3 months ago, but when I posted in "what did you do to your van" thread a couple of days ago, I was trying to find a link to them, but like you say, they don't seem to list it any more

I wonder if I bought the last one

It does look ace, is not loud, but does have a lower pitch sound

cheers guys - bought this off ebay:

Never seen one like this, cheap so worth a shot, muffler appears to be stainless too! Bit of a kink in one pipe maybe affect flow? If sounds good might cut off kinked pipe and weld a new piece on?

Yeh I really liked mine on my old Devon Aircooled, looked ace too.
Bluebird still have stuff for T25 just not the exhausts, I must say that I had to modify about three exhaust gaskets to make mine fit as the flanges weren't totally flat on one side, maybe they had too many like that and stopped making them?
