Did it show signs of overheating ?
Does it run OK now ?

No problem if you stopped straight away
To overheat it you would have had to keep driving it until the temp guage went to thr top and the red light started flashing (assuming they work)

Seems to be running fine water and oil all in the write places. But when I first pulled over the engine seemed hot and angry bubbling into the expantion tank. I drove for about 5 miles after putting the new belt on and everything seemed fine.

Probably fine then.
Make sure its tight after a few more miles.
New ones stretch sometimes.

it should be fine, had the temp sender on mine jump ship and out flowed about a gallon of coolant on to the exhaust, great clouds of steam and very nearly a trouser accident. all good now and running sweet

Cheers guys I'm going home toningh at 22.00. A steady run up the A30 should give the new belt a test (only 20miles )
