it had to happen sometime, flashing red,the temp gauge was in the normal position, stopped twice and topped up water, all well for a while then flashing red light, crawled under van and noticed coolant on the right hand bottom of van.I saw a drop of coolant leak and found that it was leaking at the hose/plastic pipe join, the clamp looked iffy and I only had a multi tool with me.the wife said ring the breakdown cover that comes with the insurance,a repairman came within 30 minutes,I told him the problem he changed the hose clamp,I topped up with coolant and drove 107 miles back no problem, will get the van on the hoist at work and check the hose clamps and the hoses as well, does anyone do silicone hoses for these engines?

Glad you got home okay mate. I had the pipes on my DF engine replaced with stainless steel ones from Brickwerks. The mild steel ones were completely knackered. I actually got the new hose to connect up the return pipe from (don't tell anyone) JK. It was decent quality. Don't know if they still have them.

I think you need to shave your finger tips down a tad!
