Hi to all,
As this is my first post I thought I should at least say Hi and then ask for help so HI ALL. Now for the help bit. My camper (T25 Komet 1987 1.9 petrol ) has had a few hiccups since I got it a couple of weeks ago, nothing major just niggley little things like oil leak and some gear box problems. Whilst most of the problems are sorted or nearly sorted, today it coughed up a new and more worrying problem. Smoke from the fuse box (area). Anyone had this problem can anyone point me in the direction or what the cause might be.Sorry if it all sounds a bit random, but but that's the best description I can give, smell of burning and smoke from in and around the fuse box.

Does this happen with any particular load switched on ? Ignition key position ? Could be poor electrical contact due to corrosion or whatever resulting in a resistance increase and consequent heating. Or could be due to damage, or cack-handed modifications. In any event it needs investigating closely to establish the exact cause.

It would seem the crac handedness was down to me. I had replaced a fuse (yep I forgot) for what I thought was for the blowers as the downloaded Haynes manual suggested, position 13 (unlucky). The manual said it was a 20 amp. That 20 amp fuse is now cremated and replaced with a 30 amp. However, my blowers are still not working. I not sure of the Haynes manual is correct for my fuse layout. New manual on its way. So panic over for now and thanks for the reply I'm sure I will be on again soon with more self inflicted wounds.

Sounds like usual symptoms of a seized up blower motor

Thanks guys, I reckon it is the blower motor alright.may be I should have sat back and thought about it before posting but then wheres the fun in that we all need a bit of panic now and then, isn't that why we buy these vans. Anyway it's off to the welders Monday for a bit of patching up.
