If you've got a non-standard pressure plate, your problem could be due to the pressure plate 'hub' being too tall, and therefore making contact with the end of the release bearing guide, causing drag and inability to select gear. There was a thread about this on here a few months ago.

I note that you have posted this on the Alternative Engine bit of the forum, it would help us to help you if you say what motor you have fitted to your van ;) For instance a Suburu clutch is a very different kettle of fish to say a 2.0Ltr injection engine set up with a diesel bellhousing etc.

Mr Ghost, I think it's an aaz (judging by another post) however the clutch drag issue would cause similar symptoms regardless of engine type I think?
