Zig CF8 and split charger

I'm struggling to understand the wiring on my van. Does anyone have a similar set up? There are two things which control charging and battery selection etc, which makes things complicated
There is a Zig CF8 box (which has a battery charger), a leisure and engine battery. There is also a ?Amber valley ?WSPC-10 split charger which was fitted by the previous owner, prior to us buying it.
The Zig has a switch which lets you choose 'touring' or 'on-site'
We faffed around for ages last weekend with the voltmeter and worked out:
- the engine charges both batteries
- the Zig seems to charge the leisure battery only (regardless of touring/on-site setting)
- both batteries go flat if you leave the cooling fan on (whoops)
- It seems with the switch in the on-site position BOTH batteries are connected in parallel (eg turning on the fridge causes voltage drop in both) but in the touring position it only drains off the leisure battery
Anyone got one of these and know how it works?? Any help appreciated, thanks!
