Hi,

There is automatic fluid seeping from my gearbox.. i have only noticed it a few days ago & while there isnt a puddle under neath the bus after being parked up the fluid level was low when i checked it. Is this a big problem that needs to be looked at asap or will it be ok for a while as long as i keep the auto fluid topped up. The reason i need to know is im planning on taking the bus to Scotland from Ireland on Monday & am quiet worried about this

and advice would be great

ran my old box for 5 years with a leak. topped fluid up once a month but have since changed box for a leak free one. How bad is the leak? where does it seem to be coming from, front of box by torque converter, rear of box?

Make sure you are checking the level correctly,
IIRC the level should be checked after a short run with the engine running.

my autobox was leaking from the pan, not too much so I kept topping it up.
Then driving back home from Italy it totally went and started pouring out from between the box and torque converter. The second hand one I ha it replaced with is dealing from the pan also but somewhat less so I'm leaving it and checking aft levels occasionally. It's so little I haven't had to top it up yet. What I don't know if the leaking will eventually lead to failure later on.
