Traveling through France, free camping spots?

Hi, Im sailing via Portsmouth Caen a week Wednesday and will spend a few days travelling down to the Royon area, where ill be staying for a week or so to start my trip. Any suggestions on spots to stay on the way down? Ive always done it in a car and just nailed it past everywhere, but this time Ill be taking in the spots in the T25. Cant wait! I dont mind going a little out of the way and taking in the west coast and getting some waves, but its not essential as Im heading back up that way.

Any advice appreciated. Thanks :ok

i'd suggest taking the boat from royan over to point des graves and i could suggest futher places along the coast after that going south, but since you only want freebies i won't bother.

i'll be over that way in 10 days or so and spending some ill gotten gains. it is after all holidays.............. :P

i paid something around €20 for the boat last year, they seem to rate a VW bus as a car and don't charge the "camper" price which is about €8 more on the price list i got from some tourist info office hot babe. 8)
