Hi,

it is more usual for these vans to have a "split chrge" system - where the alternator output is split between both batteries - than hook up only. You may have both? There have been a couple of posts about checking charging systems over the last few days. Have a look at them.

As for smelling gas, that's not right at all! :x You could use soapy water to check all the joints but obviously in a well ventilated area and NO SMOKING!

Caracamp (I think) on union street used to do gas servicing, don't know if they still do. They are in the phone book, try yellow pages for others, loads of caravan dealers around Plymouth who do caravan servicing. Welcome to the club, saw a couple of white vans around Plymouth today, if you saw a good looking, sophisticated type waving at you that definately WASN'T me. I was the one in the brown van waving like a loon.

Newbee Hello - and a couple of questions

Hi Treezo,

Welcome to the club. Ditto to Ivors reply. Ensure you take it to someone who knows these vans otherwise you could get ripped off and still end up with the problem. There are plenty of experts on here so do'nt worry about posting questions. Unfortunately i am not one of those. It's pretty quiet at the mo due to peeps away camping. Have a good search of the site as there will be something written on a thread somewhere.
