Mines is a B plate and had a large "Phillips" type screw securing it behind the trim inside the door

No he means actually getting the lock mechanism (ie barrel) out of the actual handle. I'm not posting cos I know answer, just keeping thread on track :D

sure do, the locks came out of the other handles quite easily, not sure with this there dosent seem to be a screw or clip to undo and I dont want to break it.

If its any help I also had cause to remove the same handle on mine a week ago. I did notice a small white plug on one side. Perhaps its a screw covered over with some sealer?

Hiya nope looked there its a cutout enabling access to a spring I just cant seem to see how to remove the sliding bar to remove the lock without a major impact adjustment, and if its not the right way its gonna brake.

A search of the brickyard found this reply from Mr Baxter

looks like a plan, and my god is the screw hard to find took me a while before i noticed it, but like the man says it takes a bit of digging.

Thats the one I found (mentioned above), only in my case it was sealed with some white mastic
