hey covkid, id be interested with that temp gauge idea, any more info would be great as my temp gauge aint workin may aswell go that route looks cool too !!!! where ya thinkin of mountin that gauge by the way ?
CovKid wrote:By the way, he also supplies a matching temperature guage for £6. Anyone interested in that? If so I'll do a WIKI on how to fit it and wire to a sensor.
thank you, judging by that, looks like youll need to slap that probe in somewhere, im not sure how the t25 one works,or if ya could make this use that system, also the connectors for power are similiar to pc connections from the motherboard, which would suggest them meters run off AC current, without more detail on the description im not sure it would be usable. ill await someone with a bit more know how to put me right
I'm not sure it reads high enough to cover the temperature range though. Just what temperature can a T25 run at? Theres a probe with it although not exactly long enough as it is.

Mind you, I guess it could be used if routed to rad, that way you could monitor coolant temperature and you could confirm (visually) that you were freezing your bits off in the cab

No idea. Deffo needs to come from engine bay to be any practical use though. Would be nice to have a temperature guage that wasn't so vague as the standard one though. Most it tells you is "your temperature is currently about here" or "look its now higher than it was a few minutes ago"

yeah would be nice to have a defintate read out, id be concerned tho puttin something in, how would you assure it would be water tight and not leak, im assuming it needs to be a sealed unit so ya cant just dangle it into ya water somewhere ? my standard one dont even work at the moment so i have no idea how mine acts. be very interested to see if any1 has done anything like put there own temp gauge in tho.....
