Spent a few hours tonight fitting door trims and waxoyling internal panels.


Removed the old plastic covers on doors and made new from clear plastic bag.


Other door


Door cards cleaned and ready to go on.


1st door card fitted.


2nd door card fitted. Need some new speakers.


Trail fitted insulation to internal panels before waxolying. Type used is standard rockwool with a foil cover front & back. Should work okay although will still have the problem with moisture soaking in if any leaks?

Plan now is to get the van through MOT ASAP. Hopefully next week.

Will be working on van this weekend.

Jobs for MOT .
Weld in couple of patches and new seat belt mounts.
Fix down captain seat bases.
Pinch seats from Autosleeper and fit in.
Pinch wipers from Autosleeper and fit.
One washer jet to fit?
Misc bulbs.
Replace alternator.

What do you think Mark should be achievable?

Should also have time to get some of the interior trim in?

As for rockwool insulation and moisture: I always wonder if a load of those silica gel bags would be any good. You know, the stuff they pack in the boxes they pack stereos and suchlike in. Otherwise I reckon your good application of waxoyl will help prevent an early death to the doors. Oh, I so want to get stuck in. I'm so eager that I've started doing things to my own van. I know I've been told I shouldn't but what the f*** do the medical profession know about T25's. Yeah, that's it, absolutely nuffink.

Fitted wardrobe and trial fitted first cupboard. Used rockwool insulation behind wardrobe but will use the 6mm foiled back foam behind cupboards and vents.


Again rockwool used behind rear panel but used the 6mm foam behind sliding door panel.


New plywood cut to size and trail fitted.

Plan for weekend is to get MOT work sorted ready for next week. Hopefully my fire watcher (Mark) will pop over.

Sorry I haven't really been following this thread but you would have (probably) been better off starting at the kitchen end and working towards the back. The kitchen unit can be a bitch to remove/refit if the other units are fixed in place.

Only trial fitted these at the moment. Have a lot of bit & pieces I need to work out how to fit. Going to see LMS`s Komet tomorrow to get some photos.

If you have any photos of the fitting around water tank and gas bottle area this would help.

More progress today for MOT

Welded in new front seat belt mounts and adapted captain seat bases to fit.


Reused original nuts and welded to 2mm plate 50 x 80mm. Cut out rot around old mount point. Fitted 2mm plate under arch and fillet welded in.
Ground weld flush and then fitted 1.2mm plate on top and with part fillet part spot weld tried to recreate the standard finish.


Had to use bigger top plate this side as rot reached further into arch.


Welded 40 x 10 flat either side of seat base to create height to allow it to swivel. Had pre drilled these with 10mm holes for mounting onto shell.
Original front holes opened out to 10mm and new rear holes drilled through.
Made the plate with welded nuts you can see at top of photo to make it easier to fit bolts to inner side of base. Access restricted here as you have to get your hand underneath to fit nuts.Will fit this plate first with mastic, reach in and connect bolts can then drop outer side down and drop bolts through to washers and nuts as these are easy to reach inside the wheelarch.


Better shot of full base. Will use the plate with captive nuts at top. Will use bolts, nuts and penny washers at bottom of photo as these come out inside wheel arch.

if you have a quick shufty at LMS's do the oposite of what i did to remove, n/sd, water tank, tank front etc then the rest falls into place , 1664' is there as well
