Ahem, yes it did. But I'll admit, I didn't explain what 'DGr' meant (re-jetted DG), so I'll let you off.

You can probably ignore the bit of the red curve after about 4700rpm, as I think that run finished earlier, but the extra torque up to 4200rpm seems real enough.

Thank you. A tenner a piece isn't too bad, but of course getting them in the UK might be an issue. That ridge around the indented part is not something I've seen before, so it could make identifying them under a different brand name possible. Interesting that GoWesty describe them as OE brand - I'm pretty sure I read that KS were the OE brand too.

KS Kolben has bought a Mexican pistons plant to boost its North American operations.
The German supplier has completed its purchase of Pistones Moresa from the DESC Automotive Group, which is based in Mexico City.

Pistones Moresa of Celaya, Mexico, has been named KS de Mexico.

I guess there are very few actual manufacturers, but a whole host of re-boxers. Could be a bit of a minefield.

Your link doesn't work by the way, and there's nothing you can do about it because this forum's 'swear filter' is stepping in to capitalise the 'Aircooled' word in the link, which of course breaks the link.

It's JK part number J10445

It would be interesting to hear from people in that group who've dyno'd T25s and have any information on the size of the transmission losses.

Can't cut and paste replies from FB, come on Chris join up, you can set your preferances to have no friends and don't write anything on your profile page, then just chat in groups just like on here.

Will try and do a screenshot later

This is a great thread and has come along at Just the right time.
I will be swapping out my DG for a DJ over the winter and running it on the DG’s Pierburg.
The DJ is coming from a friend and will come with it’s original distributor. How did you connect up the Vacuum side of the DJ distributor with the two vacuum ports??
Thanks

Connect the advance port to the usual port on the carb, and leave the retard port disconnected. The retard port is intended to retard the ignition slightly at idle (for emissions purposes apparently), and then gets over-ridden by the advance function at higher revs. There isn't really a suitable port on the carb to supply the retard port, and the engine is fine, maybe better, without it.

I'm still not tempted, but if you can promise I'll have no friends then I might look into it. :D

All roads seem to lead back to Kolbenschmidt! http://www.elringparts.co.uk/products/kolbenschmidt/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I've emailed Rheinmetall (the parent company of Kolbenschmidt) with my concerns and to ask for their comments. I've also pointed them to this forum to show that I'm not the only one with 'issues'. I'm not really expecting a resolution, but they might shed some light on the problem.
