Very interesting, regarding the sale of goods act. I had no idea. We always say we will "do right by the customer" but in the light of that they could come back for compensation anyway
Hope it never comes to it. But the next time I'm supplied shizzle parts by a factors, they are going to get that bit of the SoGA 1979 recited to them along with "I want to speak to the manager!"

I suggested in this thread that there would be some ‘appeasement drivel’ from the manufacturer of these CV joints and to my mind this has started to happen.

SYNCROSPARESUK wrote:I have had discussions with the manufacturer Interparts today, who have been very helpful,

How have they been helpful? What does that mean? Does it mean that they have replaced the CV joints with other ones from the same batch?

SYNCROSPARESUK wrote: … they do manufacture all the products they sell in China …

We know that ….

SYNCROSPARESUK wrote: … but the factory ships in raw materials and they manufacture from scratch in house …

Now what is that supposed to mean …. Factories all over the world tend to do that as far as I know ….

SYNCROSPARESUK wrote: … they operate to ISO 9001:2000 which is a quality management standard.

Yes it is and it is only as good as those that adhere to it. If that standard is not rigidly adhered to and correctly audited it means absolutely zip. So what happened to the ISO 9001:2000 quality management standard when those joints were made?

SYNCROSPARESUK wrote: The CV joints will be investigated by the technical department as soon as I have them back from the customer and can supply them to interparts. Each joint is laser etched with the batch and because of the TQM system they can track it right back.

Where is this Technical department? UK? Europe? China? What will they find? Will they tell us the whole truth? So when they ‘trace it right back’ what will they do? Recall the whole laser etched batch?

I believe that this whole thing is quite serious and the OP wont get the compensation due ( http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1979/54 ) and it is Interparts who should pay for it all. The route for this, I imagine, is via the Small Claims Court.
In fairness to Syncrospares, they are caught in the middle but are doing themselves no favours by the way they are posting.

They are also doing themselves no favours by defending Interparts.
