Sods law, I can't make Saturday due a 50th birthday I promised to attend before this was anounced. Can I (we) attend first thing Sunday morning? The booking form infers "probably Sunday" for driving lanes, how likely is this?
Look forward to comments.

Usually try to get out in the lanes on both days if we can, so Sunday should be fine

Really sad to miss this one again, will have to plan the summer hols better next year as we have been away twice now.

Just for the information of attending syncronauts, the nearby Mole Valley Farm Store which you pass from J28M5 en-route to the campsite. This place has a permanent burger type van that does very nice roast meals also. It is only 5 mins from the campsite, and stocks most tools and materials at competitive prices. Mole valley is a farmers co-op which is non profit making. (I dont work for them, but shop there all the time) They have most nuts bolts and tools etc.

Burger van run by these guys.

There is a Tesco store and petrol station on the Cullompton side of J28 M5, and also a MacDonalds at the Motorway services.

Up at Dunkeswell aerodrome (about 4 miles from campsite) there is a restaurant overlooking the runway. This is next door to Supacat where they make the Syncro look-a-like (busmans cabriolet especially Jackal.) My son has just worked there for a week work experience and really enjoyed his time there, including driving them on a nearby test track ( I am trying to get a set of keys for possible future Devon events, this site is really good )

See what I mean? Mid engine, independent suspension.

The Weary Traveller pub just before Tesco's is one of the more lively local pubs.

Enjoy.

Thanks Simon, very useful info... esp the Cullompton pub that's not a black hole!

We went to Mole Valley, what a treat! PC Pete now has lots of very heavy, thickly galved chunks of metaal hanging off his Doka from there... I have a stackable range of plastic tubes that looked v.useful, v.cheap and v.cheerful... subsequently discovered to be artificial insemination devices for Mrs Moo Cow
Thus it will not surprise that they also do a very comprehensive (and competitive) line in latex, nitrile, vinyl and Marigold style gloves, nee, even arm length ones

PS. There's an 'interesting' tool shop immediately after the roundabout going down into town on the right (industrial estate sort of behind the BP? filling station) which has a back room (Aladdin's cave) full of 2nd hand stuff, from 1" diameter nuts/bolts to almost anything actually... don't dream of paying the marked up prices, grab a handful of bits, bring them round to the counter and whilst waving cash or credit card about, 'suggest' they all add up to X / 3 or X/4 (where X is the actual, but speculative, labelled price) :D

Neil you can turn up any time Thursday and just pitch up anywhere you like.

The campsite is about 13 miles north of Exeter, so you are in easy reach of quite a few seaside towns, also not far from Exmoor etc. If you are into old houses and gardens there are two National Trust properties quite close.
Jenny

Neil,

Killerton

Very close to Cullompton, just down the back lanes towards Exeter and across to the North of the M5. Famous for its woodland trees.
If you both like wide ranging gardens, fantastic trees and a good stretch then climb up and return through the gardens behind the house reveals many stunning trees. Right over the top in the clump is possibly the largest Red Pine in the gardens, can be seen from the M5 nearby, but takes some finding, I paced the girth but have forgotten, but it's big... Madeline may struggle and need help climbing all the way up to those hilltop woods though. Massive Chestnut tree on the walk up to the house from memory.

The house has some very early English pianos in a quaint music room... if you're not NT member, then the house is extra, quite a few just do the gardens and woodlands (& the tea rooms of course :)

Knightshayes

has lovely gardens too, some cracking trees and a good woodland track. Large productive Victorian walled garden. Slightly further away, just off of the M-5 to Barnstaple Tiverton by-pass.

We have confirmed the campsite booking with Jackie today. She has a few others booked in too, so there will not be enough electric hookups for everybody. It will be a case of first come first served. However to make it fair the cost will be £10 per night with hookup and £8 per night without.

You are welcome to arrive anytime from the Thursday onwards and stay as long as you like. If you haven't sent me your deposit please do so asap, as there is a demand for limited number of places. Thanks.

Hi, I can re-arrange my weekend to attend some of this if there's spare capacity.
Is there space for me to:-
a) lane in my van on Sunday and camp Sunday night?
or
b) lane in my van on Sunday?

cheers

I don't think I'm going to have the shonkro ready, if I'm being realistic - just noticed that the mot ran out in June :( and I can't blag it as there's no tax disc either.
As long as it's sorted for the winter :D
