James/Mike. I agree the lettering is only cosmetic but still didn't want to take a disc to the sidewalls as it just seemed wrong. :|

Also another reason for 'ghosting' the letters is that I thought as technically they are still there and can be read (just!) there would be less chance of getting grief from the police for having no details on the outside of the tyre. :idea As I have no idea if it's a legal requirement to have details on both sides or if one side is ok!

what is the make of the paint please as i am a signwriter and would like to do my tyres with a 12mm white stripe like the ones on my old camper i bought from Karmann Konnection a few years ago.

There is a couple of suppliers in the UK mearnsy but it is actually easier and a lot cheaper to buy the stuff direct from the guy who makes it in Iceland. When I bought it last year it was 15 Euros plus 5 Euros airmail to Germany for one can. I bought 2 cans and doing 3 coats on all 4 tyres only used 3/4 of a can so for what you intend to do one can is plenty!

His name is Orn Sigurasson and his email address is orn@forlagid.is
The product is just simply called whitewall paint. Email him for the price and availability of the paint and he will answer with the pricelist, you send payment by bank transfer. Speedy service from him too! :ok

Really great work!!!

Can you tell me what tool you have use for getting off lettering from sidewall?

I am asking that because I don´t want to demage tyres.

What kind of sand paper did you use, what type, is there some special number(code) of sandpaper which was the best?

Thank you a lot!!!
