Thats the unsplit side...
inner on the split side, not too big a split. cant even see it unless you pull the boot up. maybe 2" split

outer is a bit more noticeable, the split is around maybe half the boot

Back to Hudds on an AA truck then?

It's bloody annoying to be honest. Either use the van sparringly for the next two months or pull the driveshaft out, pain it's on the diff lock side, I am right in thinking I have to remove actuator to get the shaft out aren't I?
To be honest once I chill out about it it's not too much to remove the actuator, grr
If I pull the shaft out through the trailing arm then I have all the bits out that are having work done on them

I don't recall removing the actuator when I did mine...but yours are bigger of course.

Yeah, maybe if I take the bashplate off I can lower the inner end and pull it out. Can't think why im thing actuator has to be removed...

I think the shaft has to be removed to remove the actuator coz the bolts hit the shaft...but not the other way...

Just had a eurika moment, I've got it the wrong way around. I needed to remove the inner cv to get at the diff lock bracket bolts. I'm a lot happier now. Just bashplate to remove

I didn't remove the bash plate either...but of course, yours is bigger!

Now your playing with me I'll be as happy as you can be changing cv boots if I don't have to take bashplate off

Is it because you have the bigger bash plate that you have to take it off

I'm all confused now whe I was under there earlier it just looked as though when the inner end drops down it will hit one of the bars of the bashplate. Don't think there is any difference on that part of bash plate early/late?
Maybe there is wiggle room to get it out, only one way to find out........

Dunno...I seem to recall the shaft inner end went up, in, and out...but just have a go and see i spose..I hate taking the bash plate off, work round it wherever possible.!

I'm pretty sure I've had my shafts off with the wide bash plate fitted.

Good news, I hate taking the bashplate off, can think of a million things I'd rather do.

I have a 2wd sump so I spent £50 on an oil sucker so that I don't have to take the bash plate off to change the oil. Rear shafts are okay, it's the fronts I hate!
