The plan was to get the door to hang as straight as possible before deciding how to fit the new outer skin and how much to cut off to repair the inner skin. The panels we were going to use can be seen here.

After a lot of deliberating we decided to cut most of the inner skin off as it was rusty round the bottom but leave the left corner piece in place (where the bottom bracket attaches) This bit seemed to be a seperate bit that was there for strength.

When it came to fitting had to make a small bit for here as we had cut off a bit too much.

Next tacked the outer skin on whilst the door was still in place then took it off to tidy it all up. Jon.

good work there..but do you think that looks a sharp edge on the bottom of the door?

i think when i sorted mine it was folded down there.

..also noticed the holes are gone in the new lower panel

The very bottom of the door? Or the side bottom? We folded the side bottom bit over. Will need to look at the bottom bit again though to see.

Not sure about the holes missing, where do you mean? And does it matter?

Jon.

On an original door the sausage shaped pressed areas along the bottom of the repair panel were holes

Unsure for what reason because they are too high to let water out
