Last weekend I got some spare injectors to get re nossled, thought I'd give them a go and it turns out they are noticeably better than what I had, so they are staying for the time being and my originals will get done. Well worth £20 for injectors with genuine VW part numbers and all (aparently they came from a golf, all I wanted were single stage bodys but they happend to be proper JX spec - result!). My old 'set' consisted of one VW 201B injector (corect part) and 3 other 155bar injectors just branded Bosch - wonder if they had the right nossles in them, surpose they were probubly fitted by a Bosch service centre.

So thats it starting better, smoking a little less and sounding smoother, but anoyingly the turbo is still giving greef - Waistgate is being irattic. Sometimes it builds boost from nothing to about 0.5Bar in the 1.8...2.2krpm region (is that about right for a JX? Should it still kick in a little lower down?) but its often acompanyed with boosting to just over 1Bar by 3krpm, Or, more anoyingly it doesn't make any boost at all till 2.5krpm and slowly builds up to 0.5Bar @3krpm which is then the limit. Wastegate does seem to be freeing off when moved manually but when driving its definately not always moving between these extremes as it should as low down boost and lowish limit very rarely happen together. Any spray/rain seems to garantee it sticking for a bit. Anyone got a useable K14 kicking around? Don't think I'm ever going to be that happy with this Garrett, infact its fast becomming rather iritating as it makes driving at 40MPH very dificult - Its a choice of rev the nuts off it in 3rd or crawl along in 4th with no power and have to drop into 3rd anyway if theres an ~0% hill to climb. Its fine at 50MPH though!

Don't think I'm going to get much done tidying the body/paint before Germany now as I'm running out of weekends and I bet the weather will be "pooh" - always is when I work on the van because it doesn't fit in the workshop.

I am really jealous of you lot. I can't go because the kids are in school. I work away from home so weekends are the only time I have with them. I wish the organiser had the sense to put it in the summer holidays. It is a hell of a way to go at great expense for 4 days. Have fun anyway.
Cheers
Rob.

C'mon Slobbo spit it out ..... You have mentioned this before and there are quite a few of the organising committee on this forum. This issue was put to the vote and only 17% voted for an event in the Summer. Its been said on these pages before that finding a suitable venue to accomadate 500 vans is not easy and as soon as you move into the summer season travel costs and venue prices start to increase. Mammutpark is well known to Syncro event organisers in Europe and the weekend of May 1st was the only weekend free.
