I've been waiting 4 years for CJ to get the superchip he supposedly has in his stash checked out and the map downloaded, but I think it's a myth, you'd certainly not get 130bhp out of one without porting the heads, ratio rockers and some mods on the inlet and exhaust from what I understand.
In South Africa there was a set up quoted at 130 bhp with the above plus modified AFM and a temp2 sender fix, I had one a few years ago, it wasn't as good as quoted, Hulley now has the engine, sans the exhaust and mods, and he is running it on carb but seems happy enough. The exhaust was good though, definately a little free reving.

Don't forget we are talking 20+ year old technology, modern performance companies can't do anything without obd port and Bosch don't provide support for old technologies.

chipped original 2.1..."giving 130 bhp"

Adds a new meaning to chipped... Maybe No. 8

chip 1 (chp)
n.
1. A small broken or cut off piece, as of wood, stone, or glass.
2. A crack or flaw caused by the removal of a small piece.
3.
a. A small disk or counter used in poker and other games to represent money.
b. chips Slang Money.
4.
a. Electronics A minute slice of a semiconducting material, such as silicon or germanium, doped and otherwise processed to have specified electrical characteristics, especially before it is developed into an electronic component or integrated circuit. Also called microchip.
b. An integrated circuit.
5.
a. A thin, usually fried slice of food, especially a potato chip. Often used in the plural.
b. A very small piece of food or candy. Often used in the plural: chocolate chips.
c. chips Chiefly British French fries.
6. Wood, palm leaves, straw, or similar material cut and dried for weaving.
7. A fragment of dried animal dung used as fuel.
8. Something worthless.
9. Sports A chip shot.

But then, maybe BHP stands for Bullshit Horse Power and it all makes sense after all?

Ha! Not likely..

I was pretty sure 'being chipped' had some sort of other meaning, like being ripped off... and just 'had' to find it

Chipped ........

I think it refers to the owner and is mentioned in your post, 4a, where it mentions the word 'doped' :D

or 5a, 'potato'
