Ok found a place that does new CT camshafts in Holland. But they want 225 Euros. Id rather run the risk with my old one.

check this out....
camshaft for a whopping 59 Euros.....
http://en.serial-kombi.com/volkswagen-t ... 38985.html

The only catch I can see is that the VAGCAT website states the part number is 025 109 015 and their site is listed as 113 109 021 G! I am trying to find out if the "113 109 021 G" part number is a beetle part or if it's from a later CT or a CZ - there were 2 types of CT engine and the very nearly identical CZ engine also existed too....

E D I T.....

They also have rebuild kits....
Pistons/Barrels/Heads and pushrod tubes...

The expert at VW heritage, says the profle of the cam is different if you have hydraulic lifters. I really hope hes wrong.

That should suit me as I have solid lifters into my 1776..

Dugati, whats the point of continuing? FFS it took VW less than 2 years to realize this engine is worthless. Its taken me and you 28 Years to do the same. It wasnt supposed to be like this :lol:

I think the part number is 025109017C, http://www.Vagcats.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; stated it as a CT camshaft costing 125 Euros.

http://www.vagcat.com/epc/cat/vw/T2/1980/4/49/51941/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Also found some more stuff on CT/CZ engines. http://www.moonrosedesigns.com/tunacann ... t-cz.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Hi, all been a while now back on it again.
Putting engine together..just put the crankshaft in half the engine case. When i put the other half of the centre bearing in, it rocks just a tiny bit. I know that if this rocks the crankshaft isnt fully down in the case, but it lines up with my pen marks on the other bearings and ive had it in/out four times already.
Can the camshaft be bent?
