if you get drilled discs really hot they crack at the holes none of us use drilled discs on the rally cars. grooving does create noise, never tried dimpling ( like drilling but not going all the way through ).

carbon lorrain pads work from cold and still work when the disc is red hot. trouble is they ruin the wheels and paint work as they tend to create the odd spark when braking. also noisy and wouldn`t want to put them on my road car.
