Took it to mean 'Thank Goodness, that noise is just some alternator bearings' (and not something serious)!

Yes i suppose i should think myself lucky, i am more pissed off it broke again more than the cost (i worry about the cost a later date).

It adjusts how much fuel getss injected when on boost.
