Seems to me the Achilies' heel of the difflock /decoupler is the vacuum system??

Lots of components to fail ?

Has no-one developed an electrical solenoid operated system??? Would it be viable?? :idea

the vacuum system is very simple and robust, works in wet conditions and is just about squaddie proof (no offence Phil) but as with any parts on a 20 year old vehicle should be subject to regular inspection and maintenance

Doug is running electro-pneumatic on his, every one else sticks to the simple 14"Hg vacuum system

See thread on a Yorkshire man's version of a spare wheel carrier ....... fell of the wagon I'm afraid ..... not the spare wheel .... me ..... but Im sure the wheel will to .....

Sorry Aiden, was just thinking? (dangerous)

I guess if it's not broke don't fix it :D

My difflocks work fine but I did have an issue recently :( sussed in the end, perished hoses on front actuator. 20p fix :ok :

Guess your mate is using an ARB or similar compressor as used by Landy's ??
