No you're both wrong, I own it and it's 2wd!

Ok it's 17 years old but getting closer to perfect with every completed job

Maybe its the nature of the Syncro vans, perhaps you take the use of them more seriously than those like me, who just use them to go to the seaside, music festivals or VW gatherings etc?

Yep you've got it in a nutshell. Most syncro owners are serious about their driving, not flopping around at the seaside watching all the peaches (which is also good)

Hi Clive,

No don't think that we have met?...Maybe we have?...Although Ive never been interested enough in rolling around in the mud to go to a Syncro meet, So, I'd guess that we haven't met.

Thats quite a nice van, (If the "pimp my" ride look is what you go for? )...The elephant stickers really show it off well don't they!...In a Suzuki Rhino kind of stylie! :rofl

Andy.

in rolling around in the mud

No well, its rare it's very muddy, we tend to get one muddy event for about 3 or 4 dry ones these days, even in Wales we've only really had one really wet Syncropendence, in 7 years... a few have been almost Saharan hot and dry. So the skills are honed across a wide range of conditions. Nobody likes camping in continuous rain though, but this is Britain after all....

Hi everyone.
Re the white panel van that this guy has on Ebay... I am the chap who sold it to him....I can say for 100% that its NOT a rust bucket! Anyone who buys it will be getting a good solid van.
Why is it that there seems to be a group of people singling out this seller and trying to rip his sale/s apart??? How can anyone tell the condition of the vehicles when they are so far away?
He has put his phone number on the listings so that anyone who is interested can contact him and make their own decisions about the vans, yet there are still those strange ones who insist on phoning him 'just for a giggle'!!!!!
I've known this guy for a long time now and can confirm that he is honest and genuine....and knows his stuff about V-Dubs. He's been in the scene since before he could even drive(legally) and is a pretty well known V-Dubber over here!

Jon Bisson - - Appears that you may be holding a pretty big grudge against him here. I know that the white panel van is good (I owned it!!), How can you comment on it when you have not even seen it?? Why are you slagging off the Doka so much... Didn't you want it back not so long ago??? Pretty harsh that you appear to be trying to trash his reputation for no real reason...perhaps you have nothing better to do???

Everyone is entitled to their own opinions...These are just mine.

Look this is getting alittle silly.
This is one of the friendliest/easy-going/helpful forums going. (and we will fcuk you up if anyone says otherwise!!)
Both vans look pretty rotten from the pics. Its nothing personal, us mainlanders don't know the sellers or previous owners. Vans like that might be the norm in the sea-spray swept Channel Islands. Who knows?
People are just making observations about what they can see. This is a Syncro forum where sometimes we talk about Syncros.
And from what I can see, IMO, I've seen CJ cut up better.

Welcome. :ok

No MOT needed in the Channel islands........... perhaps that's why the difference of opinion has occurred into what condition they are in

Hang on, I'm just going to bang my head against a brick wall.... :rofl

Karl, you are obviously that used to reading some of the nasty comments that seem to get posted on here, everytime a vehicle of interest comes up for sale, that you don't realise when people are doing it!
Both vans don't look "pretty rotten" at all...They are 20 odd year old vans FFS!...Go and buy an early 90's transit, (actually typed tr an sit, but this really funny joke pops up) and see how that looks!
CJ has "cut up better"...Well, if that the case CJ, is a bit of a pratt IMO!

Ok, rant over again.

I think I'll have a flick around the net, see whats for sale a few hundred miles away, and ring the owner up "for a giggle" ..Oh hang on, I'd better not, as my 10 year old will be a bit embarrassed for me if I do that!

I think my ten year old would find it funny, infact even he laughed at the un rusty panal van comment above. and asked to look at the ad again! But then again, he also finds farting on his sisters head and any jokes to do with poo, hilarious
Nothing wrong with a rusty van, and if it goes for around the price it is now it could be a good buy. (as a drive it 'til it dies kinda thing [fingers crossed it will pass an MOT] )
Just as a side note, this thread would have died two pages ago, let it die..............
